Hi, from almost the time I started eating soft foods after surgery I could
eat 4 - 6 ozs. & was really worried too. But every thing seems to be
O.K. now ( I'm 5 months out ) and still eat about 6 ozs. per 3 meals. I try
not to snack at all, but every once in a while I'll have a little
something. Just remember protein, protein, protein first. & then I have
a glass of skim milk W/ S.F. carnation instant breakfast & protein
powder late evening. Hope this helps, Laurie

How long does it take you to eat the 4-5 oz? I had such a conservative
program, hard to tell. We had 1-2 oz meals until goal wt, or in the case of
soft or squishy foods, we were done in 15 minutes or full, whichever came
first. The idea being to keep the pouch size "original" until
goal wt. And if you said it took you 30 min to eat that much, I'd call it
grazing and say, "Don't do it! You'll regret it later." If you
feel full, wait for the full feeling to pass and eat more, THAT is grazing
or another way to say it is Painless Pouch Stretching and that's not
something you'd want to be in a hurry to do.
