1.Eat protein first during all meals because it helps you maintain healthy
protein levels. Also try to walk as much as possible until the doctor
releases you to get into an exercise program.
2. Drink at least a gallon of water daily. This can be in conjunction with
protein shakes, soups, etc.
3. Portion control. Measure your meals so that you don't over eat and
stretch your pouch because it will stretch some as you get further out post
op.
4. Avoid drinking with meals. Although this is very hard it prevents you
from washing the food out of your pouch too fast resulting in hunger too
soon after a meal.
If you have vomitting to the point that you cannot hold anything down,
fever, severe nausea or suffer from any type of unusual pain or bleeding
call the doctor immediately.
2 Flinstones Chewables (I take one in the morning and one in the afternoon
of with dinner)
1500 mg of calcium(citrate is the best but some doctors recommend starting
with Tums. I take one in the morning and one in the afternoon of with
dinner)
Iron 65 mg once a day but do not take with calcium and I take a Vitamin C
chewable 500 mg to aid in absorption.
B12/B6 sublingual 1000 mg I take this in the morning.

With the vitamins; it is a multi vitamin but not a childrens such as
Flinston. VistaVitamins or Bariatric Advantage are better for us adults.
And they have chewable multi's and chewable calcium, B12 and iron.

I hate to tell you this but everyone will give differing answers on this
one. Every surgeon is different and they will advise their patients on a
case by case basis. I have already read the answers given above and some of
them contradict what my surgeon told me. It's always best to read
literature from "your" surgeon on what their rules are and if
they don't give you any, ask them in advance what information you should
know. ALWAYS write down everything they say...before and after the surgery.
