Question:
Ectopic Pregnancy & WLS
I just found out I am pregnant, I am 2 1/2 yrs out Lap RNY. I was wondering about info if anyone has had a Ectopic Pregnancy after WLS and the outcome. This wasn't a planned pregnancy & my first also. I am at a steady 125 weight, just wanted info, just found out yesterday and scared, I appreciate. — BYN P. (posted on October 25, 2005)

I found out one year for the date of my surgery that I was pregnant. I gave
birth on 10/02/05 to a healthy 7lb 7oz baby girl. Her name is Megan Pearl.
I had the strep b and she inhaled meconium and wraped her cord around her
neck. She had to spend 10 days in the hospital on antibotics but she did
very well she was off the oxygen by the second day. I only gained 18lbs. I
think I have lost it all now and it has only been 3 weeks. She is my first
and very special because we didn't think we could have kids. I ate like all
the time just to make sure she was health and getting everything she
needed. Try not to worry to much. You and the baby will be fine. Just try
to take it easy and eat healthy. I didn't exercise alot so I would lose
weight or burn calories that the baby may have needed or I needed. I had a
job that gave me enough exercise. Hope this helps.

You need to get to the dr. as soon as you can. An ectopic pregnancy( that
is a tubal pregnancy, isn't it?)is very dangerous. I don't think they can
let it come to term. It will rupture your fallopian tube. Occasionally they
will implant somewhere besides the fallopian tubes.
Otherwise if its a regular pregnancy, it will probably be ok.

IF YOU HAVE AN ETOPIC, YOU REALLY NEED TO BE FOLLOWED BY YOUR DOCTOR, MOST
ETOPICS ARE NOT VIABLE AND CAN BE EXTREAMLY DANGEROUS TO THE MOTHER IF LEFT
UNTREATED, SO PLEASE, PLEASE SEE YOUR DOCTOR ASAP IF YOUR SURE YOU HAVE AN
ETOPIC.
