Hi, I haven't had the surgery yet, but am hoping to soon. My dad is a
diabetic and can't have sugery sweets (but has an awful sweet tooth). I
found this site online and have ordered some products off of it.
http://www.diabeticcandy.com
I would suggest not buying the chocolate covered marshmellows (the
marshmellows taste funny) but the other products I bought were really good.
Hope that helps. Oh, and there are no actual candy brands on the site. Good
Luck!

Walgreen's has a huge selection of sugar-free candy, including the Reese's
and SF Hershey bars. Yum!

so delicious...taste better then any Hershey bar I ever had!!!

I didn't know Reeses now makes SF products! I'll have to look for them. I
have had chocolate peanut butter cups that are SF that I found at Walmart
and at our local grocery store, Giant. Believe that Atkins has some and so
does Russell Stover.

I love chocolate too, and occasionally I will indulge in some sf
chocolate..but always remember..even though they are sf..they are VERY high
in calories..soo always remember that sf doesnt mean low calorie! wouldnt
it be nice if it could be delicious AND low calorie? lol

I found the sugar free Reese's at CVS this afternoon, at the pharmacy
counter. I tried one, and it was delicious. One(miniature size) was enough
to satisfy my craving, and it tasted almost as good as I remember them
tasting!!

They are extremely high in carbs so watch out. I looked at a number of the
sugar free candies and based on the amount of carbs in them you might as
eat the full sugar ones. Many have sugar alcohol in them.

I haven't looked at these yet, but watch out if they have any sugar alcohol
in them. Sorbitol and mannitol are the most common, but anything that ends
in 'itol' is a sugar alcohol. The sugar alcohols can cause significant
diarrhea. You'd want to start with one piece and see if that bothers you
or not. I learned this the hard way after I was diagnosed with diabetes
(37 years ago). I've never had to learn that particular lesson again.

You can buy the Reeses' sugar free peanut butter cups at Walgreens and 7-11
stores. They are very delicious if you just want a small bite of
chocolate. They taste exactly like the "original". I've only
eaten two at a time so I don't know what would happen if you have too many.

Russell Stover also makes sugar free pb candy along with other types of
candy. BUT if you are looking to substitute your candy and get a good
amount of protien also, I recomend the DR SOY chocolate peanut bars. They
are the FIRST protien bar that I tasted that did NOT taste like cardbord!
I get mine at Wal Mart for .97 a bar, they also have iced oatmeal, but I
don't care for that one, and they have a chocolate fudge, but I haven't
tried that yet.
