Question:
WLS related?
I have had a terrible time with itching hands (palms) and feet (bottom) for the past couple of nights. Nothing seems to relieve the itch and I can't sleep. I only found 2 cases in the library which didn't state a possible cause and their profiles had no mention as to how long it lasted or what worked for them. Please help!! — Cheri M. Try increasing your fluid intake...sometimes it can be a sign of
dehydration.

Cheri: I don't know if this applies in your case, but itching (especially
in the palms of the hands) is often associated with elevated blood pressure
or increased blood sugar.

LOL, here's another possible reason - maybe it could be a side effect of
the anathesia? I use Caladryl Clear on mosquito & spider bites (from
being outside a lot) or any other little itch I might have (bad allergies),
maybe it would work on your hands and feet?

Hi, I am with the other poster.. I had itchy hands and feet and it was due
to dehydration.

I was wondering the same myself...my fingers are scaly/peeling (in the
inbetween places, where they touch)...is this a dehydration issue too?

Causes of itchy hands/feet include (but not limited to): 1. Eczema (very
common and easily treatable) which can be brought on by stress - gee you
think you might be under stress :>)) 2. It can also be caused by
mild cases of strep or viral throat infections. Don't know why it causes
this but it can and does. 3. Finally, scabies. Yuck! I would lay
odds that it is likely eczema. Surgery of any kind brings it on me within
3 or 4 weeks of the surgery...sometimes quickly, sometimes not. I like to
coat my hands and feet in baby oil then I cloak them in socks (for the
feet) and latex gloves (hands) and let sit for 2 hours - or overnight - and
then wash it well. Really helps a lot to add moisture back into the skin.
Cortizone creams help too!
