Question:
Does anyone know of a good calorie counter?
I would like to have a handy little calorie counter. Can anyone tell me where to find one. I was thinking maybe Barnes & Noble, but maybe you guys know of something better or know of a good one. I don't care much for using the computer for calculating calories, would rather have something portable. Thanks. — Cheri M. (posted on April 24, 2002)

I recently purchased a wonderful paperback book (granted it is not pocket
or purse size, unless you carry a backpack). It's called "The Complete
Book of Food Counts" by Corinne T. Netzer. She lists every food you
can imagine, including fast food, restaurant chains, brand name items. The
book gives counts for: calories, carbohydrates, protein, sodium,
cholesterol, fat and fiber. I'm still pre-op and I am amazed at some of
these things! I bought the book at Waldenbooks but have seen it at Barnes
& Noble as well. Paid $7.50 - Anna

I love The Complete Book of Food Counts! I have that one and I also have a
smaller version called the Calorie Counter for the Year 2000 (I bought it
recently in a drug store, perhapes the stores near you will have the one
for the Yr 2002...lol) I also have a pocket guide called Nutrition in the
Fast Lane, has info for fast food and some chain restraunts. I ordered it
online from www.fastfoodfacts.com . It really has come in handy! Take care.
