Question:
Do you have to go through a doc and get a RX for the b-12 shots?

...or can you purchase the supplies on-line, at a pharmacy....?    — Laurie V. (posted on April 10, 2002)

Yes, your doctor will administer the shots. I went to my PCP to have him give me the shots.

Yes. I just called the pharmacy to make sure!

You don't have to go to the dr to get the shots, but by pharmacy online I assume you mean you have a prescription to get filled? I don't believe you can get the vials of b12 without a prescription. If you have a prescription then you can go to any pharmacy, including online ones. I give myself my shot monthly, I get my b12 from walmart, my ins covers all but a small copay. Good luck

Yes, by law you must have a physician's prescription for the hypodermic needles that you'll need to give yourself the B-12 injections. I am an insulin dependent diabetic that has to phone in my order every month...The needles are what is regulated; not the B_12.
