Question:
What is restless leg syndrome?
I'd never heard of it before but it sounds like it could be what my problem is. — Meredith A. (posted on July 24, 2001)

I suffer from restless leg syndrome and take Permax for it which helps
quite a bit. The symptoms I have begin in the early evening when my legs
are at rest. I feel as though I have something crawling inside my legs and
get these electrical feeling jolts which make my legs jerk. The only thing
that relieves it is getting up and walking or stretching my legs. But it
starts right back up the minute I rest my legs. It is particularly bad at
bedtime and keeps me from sleeping. Talk to your doctor about medication,
it has made a big difference for me. Good Luck.

Hi! I have this problem too.The way I have managed it without taking a
prescription is I take a potassium supplement ,which you can pick up at
Wal-Mart,every evening after dinner and that has taken care of the RLS.You
may want to try this first and see if it helps before you go to the
doctor.Good luck!

I also have this problem. My doctor recommended drinking a small glass of
orange juice a day. At first after the surgery, I could not tolerate
orange juice, but I found a low acid, no pulp made by Minute Maid. I found
this at Wal-Mart. Also, I started using a mineral salt in very hot water
and massaging my legs right before bed. It has a lavendar scent to help me
relax and sleep better.

I have restless leg syndrome. It doesn't happen every nite, but when it
does, i just can't get comfortable. When I do get comfortable, my legs
can't. I feel like they have to be constantly repositioned. My Dr.
prescribed neuronton. This really helps me. Good luck. Also, my son has
the same thing.
