Question:
blood gas test?

I was a smoker but quit and wanted to know how long the carbon monoxide stays in your blood. I know i will have to have the test and wanted to know if i would have to explain to them that i no longer smoke. thamks Rebecca    — REBECCA L. (posted on May 22, 2001)

When I had my blood gas done, I was only 4 days without a cigarette. If I remember correctly, they did ask if I smoked or not, which it seems everyone does during your testing! I just told them the truth, and as soon as it was over, they were able to tell me that the test came out just fine. Good Luck!
