Colace works. Senekot worked better for me. You need to keep drinking alot
of water too.

First and foremost..check with your doctor. Most have a problem with
constipation. I tried practically everything. Finally I had to use
Dulcolax. For daily maintenance I use Miralax. Dulcolax is not the best,
but if I cannot go that is what I resort to. I tried stool softeners,
senokot, benefiber and more. Just keep trying what is on your doctor's
recommended list until you find something that works.

I asked my doctor, and he said Milk of Magnesia was good because it's
gentle. You don't want the stimulant types of laxatives, especially if
you're going to be using them alot.

Fluids and Milk of mag, also start taking a senna kot with colace in it
every night to keep regular. I am 3 months out and still have trouble with
out the senna.

None of that worked for me and the consitpatio was worse then surgery. I
use metamucil clear & natural i put a teaspoon or two in 3oz of water
and drink it everyday. This is natural and doesn't cause your body to get
depended on the laxatives.
