I used natural whey ( unflavored) and mixed with ff/sf instant pudding with
1/3 c instant milk. Put this in a baggie and then mix with 8-10 oz of
water. This makes a great protein drink that can be stored or taken with
if you trave.

Hi there! My FAVORTIE protein mixes are from BariatricEating.com....they
have a line called "Inspire", and it includes a flavor called
German Chocolate Cake, and another called Chocolate Peanut Butter Fudge,
one called Caramel Latte, and my personal favorite, Peanut Butter Cookie.
You can only get them online at her site, and they are more than just a
little pricey, not to mention much higher in calories, fat and carbs. I
also LOVE the Lean Dessert protein powders. They come in Fresh Cinnamon
Bun, Chocolate Coconut Candy Bar, and Banana Nut Bread. Once again, they
are pretty pricey and they have more calories, fat and carbs than I want
now. I keep them around just for treats. My mainstay, the one I always
have on hand no matter what, is Syntrax Nectar Sweets Chocolate Truffle.
It's very low in calories (only 100), with no fat, and only 1 carb -- but
23 grams of protein. I won't lie and say there is NO protein taste, but
it's the least noticable of all of the other ones I've tried so far except
for the BariatricEating ones. I love turning on my tap water as hot as it
will go and making a double batch of it before bed. Tastes like hot
chocolate. I also have Syntrax's Fuzzy Navel (a fruit flavor), but I'm not
near as fond of that. Both can be gotten at your local GNC or Vitamin
Shoppe for about $35.00 a tub, which lasts forever. I'm thinking that when
I get my tax return back, I'll buy the Syntrax Nectar Vanilla Torte flavor,
and several bottles of DaVinci Sugar-Free Syrup, and that way I can have
just about any flavor I want. You can get inexpensive protein powders like
EAS at Costco, but the protein taste was more than I liked, and once again,
they had more calories, fat and carbs. A lot of people on this forum use
the unflavored Unjury protein powder, and they say you really can't taste
it unless you "cook" it and then it becomes inedible. I've never
tried it, but I have tried Any
Whey unflavored protein powder, putting it in soups, broths, puddings,
jello, and other things, and it's not bad. But here again, a tub of it is
going to run you about $30 or more. If you have the money to spare, I
suggest you order the "Sampler Box" from BariatricEating.com. It
costs about $75 total including shipping and stuff, but it comes right
away, and is chock full of samples of all kinds of different protein
powders, and about 6 ready-to-drink bottles of protein, and a book and a
shaker bottle. It was well worth it to me to find out which protein
powders I could stomach and which ones I could not. I hope this helps you!

I take Max Protein from GNC, very low sugar and around 100 calories. I
feel for you my weight loss sister. I had a time trying to find protein.
Unjury has great protein shakes also.
I just realized this morning that this is a major change of habits in our
life styles. Between the not drink liquids 30 minutes prior and after
eating, and all the vitamins. I am not complaining at all, but this is why
I try so hard to follow what my Dr says to a "T."

If you haven't sent off for samples yet, try them. Our individual tastes
are so varied, recommendations may not do you any good. That said, I
ultimately found the Body Fortress whey protein at Walmart to be the one I
could tolerate. And it was the cheapest at around $13/canister. I pretty
much stick to vanilla because that flavor works well in combination with SF
Davinci syrups and as a general base for making protein shakes.

I love Gold Standard that I purchase at GNC I pay about $50 for 3 months
worth. You can mix it with hot or cold. I also have purchased shaker cups
from that becuase I can take them where ever I go. Every morning I use a
22 oz shaker cup. I pur 6oz of light vanellia silk 1 scoop of "french
vanellia" protein powder and shake well. I then fill the rest of the
cup with coffee and have my own fat free sugar free Latte for breakfast and
it is 26g or protein to start my day.

Hi, I see another poster turned you on to the website bariatriceating.com.
In my opinion, the very best (and less expensive) protein mix from their
website that is whey isolate is here:
http://shop.bariatriceating.com/PURE-Unflavored-Protein-Isolate--42-scoops-per-container--perfect-for-soups-broth--SOLD-OUT_p_1-278.html
At present (today, 4/11/10) it is sold out, but if you sign on to their
site and subscribe you will get emails (and frequently) when something is
restocked. You get 42 scoops per bag of this protein mix, it is unflavored
and therefore can be added to ANYTHING and not disturb the flavor of what
you are attempting to eat and it only costs $19.99 + shipping. It is easy
to dissolve too ... and again, cheap. I LOVE it. As another poster also
said though, all our tastes are individualized, so I HTH. Good Luck!
