I was very blessed this way also. I used my pain medication generously
while in the hospital because I knew as soon as I got home there would be
no medications there for me to fall back on....to my surprise I never
needed any. As soon as I came home I began my walking routine and have not
stopped. Walking decreased the gas, and made me feel alive as soon as I got
outside. I am glad you are blessed also.....take care and welcome to the

I too had no pain. Now and then pressure on my left side but no real pain.
Actually everything was less complicated than I have heard and I have
thought, "was my surgery done right?" It must have been because
I just passed 6 months and I am at 94 lbs lost. Enjoy...feel free to write
to me if you have any other questions.

Hi, I had no pain either, just a bit of discomfort the day after my RNY.
From day 3 onwards I refused pain meds and didn't need to take them when I
got home from hospital either. The nurses told me I must have a high pain
threshold, but I don't think this is the case. I guess we are just lucky
or perhaps it is down to the expertise of the surgeon. Who knows! One
thing I can say for sure is that I am not complaining!

It is normal not to have very much pain, but do remeber that you are not
helaed on the inside so don't go over doing it for a while. I know what you
feel like and it is easy to over do. You can rip staples by doing to much
at first. Please be careful and let yourself heal.
