Question:
I am scheduled for sclerotherapy this month to reduce the size of the stoma.
Has anyone had this and what are your results? Someone told me this is just a placebo. I pray that that is not the case but I am having trouble finding people that have had this done. — Kristin M. (posted on September 6, 2009)

I have had it done three times- First time in Feb 2006 4 years post op/1
pregnancy. Worked very well got back down to 170 or so. Then the effects
wore off so we repeated it in Dec of 06 again worked well. I hadn't been
getting over 195 before repeating. The third time was after my 3rd son was
born I wasn't reloosing much at all. So in Feb 08 I had it done again.
Works well for around 8 months then can start to stretch again. In my case
it was done more than 2 times he said only because pregnancy is known to
push up on the stoma and widen it. It was worth doing. I want a perm form
one that doesn't lessen its effects over time.
