Question:
Advice for my first plateau????
Okay so I've been avoiding writing this...but here goes. I've officially hit my first plateau....Only lost like 2 lbs in 11/2 wks.....:( Kinda discouraging you know. I feel like I'm barely eating and still working, exercising and now going to physical therapy and still only 2 lbs. I know that this happens to everyone...but i'm getting depressed about it. On the up side I've gone from a size 26 to 20...yay. I'm trying to look at the positive. I've been kinda bummed about the weight loss and that's why I haven't updated in a while.....been avoiding the blog. If anyone has any advice I'd love some. Thanks. Wish me luck. — alojah82 (posted on April 16, 2009)

I found if I up my protein it helps when I plateau. I also find if I get is
pleanty of fluids that also seems to help.
I like to chew on crushed ice.

I have found that when I plateau it is like the body readjusting itself and
taking a rest from the weight loss. It is very discouraging and
frustrating, but it just has to be waited out. Like you said, you have
gone from a 26 to a 20. My last plateau lasted 3 weeks, and I got really
bummed out about it, but when it was ready to start losing, it really
started losing. I have been losing about a pound a day. Just realize
that, as discouraging as it is, it is just the bodys way of resting.
