It could be water weight. If you ate something salty it could make you
retain fluid and that would make you weigh heavy. Also if you are
constipated that could make a difference.

Try not to get too hung up on numbers. It will all smooth out if you are
following your plan. Also if you are not eating enough that will mess you
up as well. When you barely eat your body goes into "starvation
mode" and after a while you don't lose at all. Just keep doing what
you did to lose 135 pounds. That is a fantastic loss. You should be very
proud. Congratulations.

Willard,
First of all, Congratulations on your weightloss success thus far! The
most important thing is that you have lost and are feeling better both
physically and emotionally! That's wonderful. I think there might be
several things that could cause a fluctuation in your weight of 5lbs but I
wouldn't worry about it too much. Clearly you are still eating small
amounts of food so you're doing what you should be doing. One thing you
might consider is what you're wearing when you weigh yourself. Ideally for
a true weight measurement you should weigh yourself after you have used the
restroom in the morning and before you have eaten anything, and you should
do it in the nude. That way you can "always" be certain of an
accurate account of loss or gain. Another thing to consider is the scale
you use. If it's a traditional scale, make sure that it's still calibrated
on Zero when you aren't standing on it. If it's digital, make sure that the
battery it uses is fresh. It sounds as if you have make tremendous progress
since you're surgery though and I wouldn't worry a whole lot about those 5
lbs. Chances are that you will lose it again and much more. Best wishes to
you and Happy Holidays Willard!

Salt consumption, Hypertension, and Diabetes may play a role in water
retention. This could be a reason for your fluctuation. Another reason
could be that you had food stored up in your colon. I know that since my
surgery, I go to the bathroom much less frequently than I did before the
surgery. I sometimes go for days without a bowel movement. I can drop a
few pounds after going to the bathroom, between relieving myself of both
solid and liquid waste. I usually don't even bother to weigh myself until
after I go to the bathroom, and before I eat breakfast.

I am glad you asked because the same thing has been happening to me. I
weighed 203 several days ago and now I weigh 206. It keeps happening over
and over.... However - I have been keeping a record of my weight and even
though I go up a few pounds, the overall trend over time is still weight
loss, so that's the most important thing! I am now 10 1/2 months post-op.
The weight loss has slowed down, and, like I said, I seem to have started
this odd little "thing" where I gain 2 or 3 or even 4 pounds
back, then lose it again.... But as I track my weight over the last 2
months, in spite of the little yo-yo's in weight, I am still losing.....
Probably something similar happening to you...
