Questions for Your Gastric Bypass Surgeon
What types of weight-loss surgery procedures have you performed?
How many of each type of weight-loss procedure have you performed?
Can my surgery be performed using minimally invasive techniques such as
laparoscopy?
What is the typical weight loss and improvement of associated health
conditions for some of your other patients?
Are any of your patients willing to share their experiences, both positive
and negative, with me?
How will this procedure affect other medications I ingest?
Does your practice provide support groups or counseling services for
patients and their families?

I don't have questions for you to ask, BUT I do want to stress how
important it is to tell the Dr everything about your family history and
your personal medical history, no matter how minute, be sure to let him/her
know any symptoms you may have been having. I happened to mention to my
surgeon that I had occasional trouble swallowing dry meat, and he ordered a
monometry test (esophagus test) and we found out that I have an
"immature esophagus" which meant instead of the lapband we were
planning, I had to have a Vertical Sleeve Gastrectomy. If I had not
mentioned this symptom, I most likely would have had the lapband and not
been able to keep anything down to the point where I would have had to have
a second surgery to remove the lapband!
