My Blood Pressure has always been high, but a month after WLS RNY I passed out when I bent down to tie my shoes, and my Cardloigest told me to cut my does in half and stay on it. @ weeks later in a store, I dropped so change, bent down to pick it up and passed out on the way up, going through a glass counter in the store. Destroied the counter, but I only got a few cuts. They decided to take me off the drug 100% for 4 weeks and then check me out. Today, withyout medication my blood pressure has gone from 190/115 to 110/55, and my total colestrol has dropped from a total of 245 to just95. I was diabetic taking every drug in the world and today I take nothing for any of these three issues that have been with me for 25 years. I would do what your surgeon suggest. Best of success to you.

I recommend you call your PCP immediately but more than likely you're surgeon's office is correct. I have a tendency to be anal and double check everything with my endo and my pcp. Be careful!

I was actually on blood pressure medicines for headache prevention and had the same experience. I would talk to my PCP again and find out the wisdom of stopping. In the meantime if you are finding yourself faint when you stand up there is a trick. Contract your stomach muscles for a few seconds before standing. It helps raise your blood pressure.

My last BP Medicine was on the day of surgery. I have not had any since nor do I get dizzy anymore. I am 16 mos out my BP has been normal ever since. The Dr told me the nite after surgery I probably would not need the med anymore and I haven't.

I have had low blood pressure for the last 9 years since surgery. It has never gotten any better and I found out that the surgery is the reason that happened. It has been so low the dr. asked me if I was breathing. Can be a pain in the rear, but I have dealt with it. I have even been to a specialist and they have tried everything and nothing worked for me. Good Luck!!
