Miost likely it is B-12. You need so Bariatric Vitamins to get you over
the hump. You can get a B-12 shot from your doctor, but you should get a
B-12 spray for under the tounge. Look at www.bbvitamins.com Building
Block make vitamins for Bariatric patients

You have just had a fairly major surgery. The trauma not only to the body
but there are lots of endocrine and hormone changes happening. Take time to
rest when you can. Work harder at the protein drinks as they really do help
you heal better and faster...and give yourself a break or two daily just to
sit quietly for even just a few minutes. The tiredness is partly from the
anesthesia administered during surgery...yes it has been 4 weeks but did
you use your inspirometer to help clean out your lungs after surgery? Give
it another 3-4 weeks and you should feel much better if you will get your
liquids and protein in.

ah yes...it took me 2 mo to get my energy back...as the other people said,
just make sure you drink your shakes and get your supplements in...the bad
taste in your mouth will disappear too once youre able to start eating
again....don't fret, it gets soooooo much better!

Your body is having to adjust to the major change that it has incurred. I
came home with so much energy and then about a couple of weeks later it
just left and I was so tired. I had to realize my body had been through
something major and it needed to get use to the changes. Some of your
insides are gone and it needs to do some changes before you can pick up
where you left off so to speak. It will come. If by chance it doesn't talk
to your doctor about it. Congratulations and good luck to you in the
future.

I have not had my rny yet but 45 more days to go!!! Like you I'm sure
you've done lots of reading of profiles. One thing that I read over and
over is to get enough protein or you would not heal as fast and would be
tired, also water. Put protein powder in as much as you can handle. I
stumbled on a profile on OH that is called eggface. It is a God send. It's
got so much info. I call it the wls guide for dummies. Loaded with recipes
too. Best of luck.

you could have answered your own question -- lack of food could be causing
you to be tired -- the body needs fuel to run -- fuel is food -- good luck

I agree with the protien theory. IMO it is that you are dehydrated from not
getting all your water in. As an ex frequent user of diet and water pills
and an absolute non-water drinker I know that gives you horendous halitosis
- bad breath and yucky taste. Lack of water will also cause fatigue.
Solution to both - I buy Isopure bottles (40 grams of protien) and split
them half and half with crystal light (eliminates the aftertaste) and drink
4 a day. That way I get 80 gm os protien and 80 oz of water. At this stage
of your journey it is very difficult to get all your protein from food.
Everything you can eat on top of that is a bonus.

I was still exhausted 4 weeks out, just take it easy. Walking helped get
my energy level up, just take short walks. 2/20 was my lap RNY, I'm
finally working full time, but last week I missed a day of work because I
was too tired, I'd been overdoing and wore myself out. It can be
discouraging hearing about people who feel great and are full of energy
right after surgery - not everybody bounces back that quickly. The bad
taste in your mouth could be ketosis, which will get better eventually -
it's a sign you're losing weight, so is good thing.
