I am a little further out than you (16 mos.) but i was earing pretty much
anything i wanted @ 8 months out. chicken of all kinds, fish & seafood,
eggs, cheese, lunch meats... so many options. I was able to eat salads @
about 6 mos. post / do you work with or does your doctor have a
nutritionist at their office? They can give you lots of ideas, specific
recipes (the 1st poster had a great idea) or google high protein recipes or
different chicken or seafood recipes. I don't know how you react to your
food, but if you are worried about getting sick just try a little bit then
wait to see how your body responds. At 8 months post i think you should
definetly be eating protein rich foods and using bars or shakes only for
your breakfast or snacks...remember your water and vits too...and best of
luck 2 you : )

I CAN eat what ever i want now at 9 months out. heres what i ate today so
far. 7 am protine shake, 9 am 1 snack size sharp cheese. 1130 am i had a
protine bar and at 2pm i had lunch at Hooters and ordered 10 bufflo shrimp
and a chicken casadea (sp) I ate 4 shrimp and an 8th of the casadea (half
of one of the four peices) and that was it. tonight i'll have turkey
chilli for dinner and maybe a sugar free ice cream bar (if i remember)
haha. from day to day mostly everything stays the same except the lunch
part, it differs.
I've notice that right now in my life I find myself wanting to eat poorly
and have to make my self not.
i dont want to go back to the dark side ever. Will power comes into play
alot.
my 2cents, good luck!

I am just over 6 months and there is not much I can't eat. For some reason
hamburger kills me (even ground); but I can eat pretty much anything. Beef,
Fish, Tuna, Pork, Chicken, etc. I love pinto beans (whole) with cheese and
salsa. Hummus rocks with baked bagel chips. I eat yogart or a piece of
toast (whole wheat of course) w/peanut butter, or 1/4 of a bagel with light
cream cheese, 1cup of cereal w/1% milk a sugar free mini muffin or any of
the 100 calorie items. Lunch, normally sushi; or pintos and cheese or
teriyaki bowls or TV dinner or soup or whatever....dinner a lot of the
same. Check with your NUT and double check your surgeon restrictions, every
surgeon is different. I eat veggies and fruits and carbs, and protein. I
eat pretty much what I want - of course, balanced, and nutritious. Good
luck.

I eat mostly meat and cheese and salads... chicken is a little hard unless
it's really moist-- I've been trying to eat more red meat due to slight
anemia, sometimes I don't eat because I can't think of anything I want to
eat, so I'll have a protein shake in that case. Pickles are good for
something salty and (cringe) I often eat a few peanut m & m's... I
drink a lot of crystal light.
