When this happens to me, I have found that I have eaten too fast and/or not
chewed everything properly. Unfortunately, I don't know any way of
resolving it - other than some Tums and time. Also, this happened to me
when I ate sliced roast beef too early on. (I'm 15 mos. post now) Slow
down and chew, chew, chew! Hopefully that will help. If it continues, ask
your doc. Good luck! ~Sarah in VA

I talked to my surgeon yesterday, I am pre-op He said gas is the biggest
obsticle to this surgery. Get up and move around and wiggle your body
around and work it out of your system.

Sheryl,
With me that would be eating too fast and not chewing my food enough. My
surgeon gave me a good tip, if you feel this lump or pain in your chest --
stop eating and wait awhile before resuming your meal. Even now after 5
months when that happens -- I stop -- drinking -- eating whatever I'm
doing.

Hi Sheryl again, I didn't address the indigestion issue with you. I think
on that note, you need to call your surgeon. It could be real indigestion
if you are not eating slowly or a type of food that just doesn't agree with
you, but if that is not a issue for you, then you could have a gastric
ulcer. Gastric ulcers are nasty and won't be fixed by toughing it out,
please call them and tell them what is going on. Let them decide what to
do next. Gastric ulcers are not that uncommon. Patricia P.
