Debbie,
Glad you are feeling better. Here is a tip my surgeon gave me, if you
start feeling a pain in the chest -- whether you are eating or drinking
STOP. Do not ingest anything for about 30 minutes and you will be okay.

Everyone is different. I had a horrible dumping experience,a couple of days
ago,and I thought that I could die! It lasted for about 45 minutes. I
eventually vomited, but still felt all beaten up inside for hours later..
It was a painful way of learning what my body cannot handle. I have a
friend who wishes she would dump, because then she could not tolerate
sugar, that she is allowing back into her diet. I wish you peace.

Not sure what your symptoms were, but I have had episodes where I believe
something was "stuck". Those have lasted as long as yours. I
can not swallow anything, even my own saliva has to go out and not down. I
vomit and feel crappy, but not the same as dumping. Dumping for me is
light headed, dizzy, sweats, heart beating fast... sleeping is the best
cure for this... for me. And never eating whatever made me sick again!
Hope this helps. (I am 5 months out)

That seems like an awfully long time - I can feel your pain.
"TRY" to drink as much water as you possibly can if this happens
again. FOR me it seems to help. Good Luck to you.
