I have not had my surgery yet, and do not plan on having any more afterwards either, but just like with anything else, it takes time. I bet if ya start with the protein shakes again that would be a help. I did high protein pre-op and lost almost twenty pounds in two months. Ya gotta remember, it took ya 9 months to gain that weight, it may take that long to get it off. Good luck!

Hi Karen, Congratulations on your new baby girl! She is so cute and you and hubby look so happy and proud. I haven't had surgery either but I have definitely been reading a lot on OH. I would suggest to go back to basics as if you just had your surgery. If you are not going to nurse then that is the way to go but I suggest you wait until 6 weeks post partum to start. Also call your surgeon or nutritionist for advice. Good luck! Cira

32 pounds is a very healthy weight gain. They usually recommend 25-35 lbs. Congrats on your baby! If you are breastfeeding it speeds up the contracting of your uterus so it will be normal size quicker. Also it speeds up your metabolism. I would suggest exercising and eating healthy foods. You still have your tool... use it like you did before you were pregnant! Good luck!

Congrats on your new baby! My advice would be to go back to basics, focusing on proteins and eating healthy food and of course adding in some exercise as soon as you are able. You will be back on track in no time. Good luck!!

Karen, you have a precious new child. Congratulations! Are you nursing? You will lose your breast milk if you diet. Please be very careful how you move forward. Diet and exercise, water, protein, diet and exercise, it is the only way. You have a great tool, but it will not work if you don't use it! As you use it properly you will lose weight again. Find a way to exercise, and watch what you eat, but if you are nursing, please be careful to get enough. Your precious child deserves the very best from the very beginning. There is no second change to do it right with an infant. I wish you well. Take care, Patricia P
