Sherry my doctor's office gave me a nice laminated one that has my doctor's
information along with information stating what surgery I had and the size
of my stomach. Ask your doctor's office if they have anything like that.
Good luck.

If you are thinking about using a card to try to order smaller portions,
then more power to you. Just be cautious about ordering from the
children's menu which typically does not offer nutritionally sound choices
(especially for us). Also, many of us simply order appetizers (shrimp
cocktail, for example) or small side salads when we go out to dinner so
don't need the use a card for special treatment.
Whenever this question gets asked (or posted on a message board) there is
usually a bit of an uproard among those of us who think that using a
restaurant card is just not a good idea for all the standard reasons (using
it to order from the typical kids' menu means not getting very healthy
choices, using it for special consideration seems kind of unfair to other
diners who may have small appetites and never finish the whole portion
that's served, most places have healthy and filling appetizers that can
serve our needs well, etc., etc.)? But, seeing how you didn't ask for my
opinion, I shall not offer it.

I have to go along with Steve. I got a card, and used it once at a buffet
when I was with a bunch of family members and I wasn't paying. And felt
guilty. Never did that again. Usually I get a cup of soup and an appetizer
to share and that will do it, or if with a person with a smaller appetite
or WLS, share an entree. Or take the leftovers home! You can also ask for
luncheon portions at most places. But hey, if you like chicken fingers and
mac and cheese, go for it!

Hello Sherry,
First of all I would personally like to thank Kim and Laural for simply
answering your question. As for other's "opions" whcih you did
not ask for, and as you did not ask about chicken fingers and mac &
cheese. Well, I must say that restuarants do sometimes offer healthy
choices on the childrens menu. Such as, Cracker Barrel, you can get grilled
chicken and a side order of your chioce on the childrens menu. So, what is
wrong with that? And if having the restuaraunt card offers you peace of
mind, then I say go for it! Whatever works for you! Just had to add my two
cents. Best of luck. Jean

I got mine from my surg. and used it a few times. Remember the Senior's
section. It has smaller portions and is often good for us. I am now old
enough for the Seniors sections so i seldom use it now. Anyway just wanted
to say the Senior"s section has smaller serveings and is often good
for us.
