Question:
Did BC/BS of MA pay for your TT with a hernia repair?
I have a very large hernia and plan to have surgery to correct it in October. My surgeon has offered to do a TT at the same time, but for a fee. I have a large apron, but have no recent rash or back problems. I have had 3 C-sections, so my abdomen looks like a poorly drawn roadmap! I've lost 105 punds and am within 20 punds of my goal. Have you had any experience with BC/BS PPO in Massachusetts with regard to hernia/TT surgery and did you have any out-of-pocket expenses. Please contact me or reply to this message. While my BC/BS PPO is in Michigan, I just received the approval yesterday
for my tt with hernia repair. They did deny my request for the belt
lipectomy portion, so that will be aroun $3300 out of pocket for me. Good
luck!

I have BC/BS of MA HMO - My doctors would not do the
hernia repair along with panniculectomy. I tried both
ways asking the surgeon and then asking the PS. Both said
no. I just had my hernia repair last week (OUCH). Call
your insurer to find out for sure. They are there to
provide you with that kind of info. Good luck.
