Question:
Looking for a support group in Florida

Renee, I'm about to have the surgery in 4 weeks. I live in Sarasota and the closest support group I know of is at Tampa General Hospital with Dr. Murr. He personally isn't my surgeon, but from what I've heard you don't have to be a patient to attend support group meetings. You could give them a call to find out when they meet. If you find any meetings in Sarasota/Bradenton please let me know. Thanks.

Renee, I am not sure how far Sarasota is from Brandon. There is a group that meets there the second Saturday of the month. We all have a variety of Drs and are in all phases of the process. Email me if you are [email protected] Best wishes, Diane

there is a great support group in clearwater its the second saturday of every month i just went to my first one this month and loved it ive never felt so comfortable in a room full of people,,,its called bypass buddies.there were pre ops post ops people just lookin into the surgery ,there was even som1 all the way from ft myers.anyway if you need any more info or any info on wls supporting docs email [email protected] way best of luck!

THERE IS A SUPPORT GROUP MEETING IN ST. PETE BY DR. MICHAEL BUTLER ONCE A MONTH ON SAT.NEXT ONE IS FEB 16, HE IS GOING TO HAVE TWO THE FOLLOWING MONTH IN LAKELAND. HE ALSO HAS MEETING IN ALTAMONTE SPRINGS. THE NUMBER TO CALL IS 1-800-393-HOPE.
