Hi Bonnie! From what I've heard Dr. Rehnke does do high BMI patients.
But, to tell you the truth I haven't heard of Dr's not operating on
patients with high BMI's...which would not shock me! Anyways, I live in
Largo, fl and there is a wonderful dr. named Barry Haicken that has had
super large patients. His waiting lists aren't that long at all(yet, but
they're getting longer)! He's an excellent man and surgeon. I am posting
this anonymously because I understand that Dr. Rehnke has MANY malpractice
suits filed against him. People often complain that Palms of Pasadena
where the surgery is performed is a "meat factory". At Haicken's
support meetings, people often talk about considering Dr. Rehnke, but later
switch to Murr, Haicken or others. Good luck in whomever you choose.

I don't know anything about Dr. Rehnke but I do know about Dr. Murr. I had
my initial appointment July 9th and was put totally at ease. The office
staff is wonderful and Martha...the Bariatric coordinator is an Angel in
disguise! I waited 9 months for the appointment but the wait was worth it.
Check around and do your homework before making your decision...Good luck
in your journey! You can e-mail me if you [email protected]
