Question:
ANy suggestions to help my craving for pop?
I am three weeks post op and never thought the only thing i would miss so far is a big diet coke. Any suggestions for the craving. My doc says no carbonated beverages ever. I try to let it go flat and it tastes terrible. — Gail M. (posted on March 7, 2001)

I gave up all carbonated beverages and Caffiene just over a week ago. I
swithched to Sugar-free KoolAid and Decaf Iced Tea. Hang in there. It
will get easier the farther away you get from it. I quit cold turkey and I
think it has been easier than tapering off. You will get a major headache
for a few days but it is worth it to just get it out of your system.

Like the previous answer, I too gave up caffeine and carbonated drinks
cold-turkey and I'm living proof that there is life beyond Coca-cola. There
are days when I nearly caved in, but there are other beverages you can
have. Experiment and see if there is a tasty substitute for you. Sugar-free
lemonade maybe?
