Question:
How long will I have to stay in hospital after getting lapband

The lap-band is one of the least invasive procedures you can have because
it is done laporoscopically and there are no internal incisions. These
surgeries are usually done in the morning, and you go home that afternoon.
They will want you up walking around just a couple of hours after surgery.

I am celebrating my 2 year bandiversary. I was in the hospital for only a
few hours after my band placement. Just long enough to be anesthesia free.

I had my surgery at Portsmouth Naval Hospital, and they keep you overnight.

I went home the following day and then returned to my third graders 8 days
thereafter. This is my recommendation: If your fee and/or insurance
covers an extra day, use it. If your family situation will allow the extra
time, use it. I don't know about you, but I have a tendency to want to do
too much at home. I pray you love your lapband as much as I love mine.

I had my band surgery on Tuesday, spent the night in the hospital, went
home on Wednesday and was back to work on Monday. It was easier than
having a baby! There was no little one to take care of the next day! LOL
- I love my band. I've had it for 7 months and I'm 25 lbs from my goal
weight.
