I had lap band surgery in Tijuana Mexico w/ Dr. Pedro Kuri. The facility
was nicer than most in the U.S. No complications at all.

My cousin and I have both had a VSG with Dr. Alvarez in Mexico and he and
his staff were wonderful. I believe he also does the lapband procedure.

A good friend of mine had her lap band done in Mexico in 2007 without
complication, however, since then no American doctor will see her about
adjusting the band. She could not afford to commute to Mexico so the
procedure turned out to be a waste of money for her. PLEASE HEED
THIS.....

As a hospital surveyor and a nurse I can say I was extremely impressed with
my hospital and Dr Rumbaut in Monterrey. The key is knowing you have
someone near you that will do the fills afterwards if you cannot get back
& forth to Mexico. I was able to find a local surgeon that would do
the fills & have lost 115lb.

My husband works with a lady who flew down with the surgeon from DFW to
Mexico for the surgery, and then they flew back together. She and her mom
both had lap band done with him in Mexico. No complications other than
what could have occurred here. She and mom also ended up a year later
flying back down there with him and replaced the band for the sleeve. No
complication, and that's been several months also. She said the facilities
were REALLY nice.
