I felt the same way after my surgery,I was eating very little but it will
come off!! I had a herrnia when he went in to do my surgery and we didn't
know until he got in there. He also had to put the larger lapband on me but
I didn't ask why.My surgery was on July 31, 2009 I lost 30 before surgery
and 32 after, as of know 3-14-2010. I'm feeling great, not in a hurry to
lose to fast because I want to be able to tone as I go with exersice
slowly. I'm getting to sore from trying to exercise to much or to longin my
neck area. But anyway I think if your are doing as you are told, it will
take a little bit, but dont get discourage because all the sudden you will
see the weight come off. remember you are swollen up from surgery and it
takes time to heal!!! Good luck you willdo alright, hang in there o.k.

Your body is in starvation mode right now. With the preop diet, the stress
of surgery and only doing liquids, its terrified you're starving to death
so its holding on to every ounce. Once you start to eat and the healing
process continues you will the weight come off. Best wishes.

I did not get full restriction until my 6th fill...8 months after surgery!
I did loose a lb there and a lb here, but it was because I WAS WORKING OUT
HARD. I was 8lbs to goal and have put on a few lbs over the Christmas
break. I am trying to maintain now, but have run 2 5Ks and am in training
for a 10k. The most important word in your vocabulary right now should be
PATIENCE! Be patient with yourself...it will come off. I too chose the
band because I wanted a much less evasive procedure. It is a more natural
weight loss and because of that it will take longer...keep up the good
work. Personally I lost 10lbs the first two months, 1 lb the month after,
and stayed the same month 3....BE PATIENT!

I just wanted to say that Kimberly's comments were extremely helpful. I'm
almost a month pre-op and I understand that we chose a longer path by going
with the lap band but I've talked with two people now who have done the
gastric bypass who wish they would have gone with the lap band.
I was worried I wasn't going extreme enough but not anymore. :)
