Question:
Have u had a problem with Gallstones?
Has this happened to anyone else, last Thursday I found out I had Galstones, Saturday I went back to the ER and they ended up taking out my whole Galbladder when I asked how many stones the surgeon said their was so many that they couldn't count them and they took out the whole bladder and they said I have had these for a while, wow and in january I had mentioned to my surgeon I was having pain I was thinking a hernia but by feeling nothing was found, I am glad this is over now because I am seeing a plastic surgeon on the 24 th for breat reduction the main thing is I missed my mission trip they left today for Special K Ranch in Montana bummed for that I heard that alot of people that had gastric bypass has this problem just curious if anyone else had this I am 11 months out 160 pound loss Thanks Tammi — Tammi Sandoval (posted on June 15, 2009)

I had it before surgery. I'm still pre-op in fact. I've had gallstones for
3 years thanks to one time when I did a crash diet that lost me 50 lbs in 3
months. They cause me pain every 2 or 3 months or so, but the pain is
excrutiating when it happens. Luckily I can get my gallbladder out the same
time that I get my WLS done. :)

Just had my gallbladder out almost 2 months ago. Totally understand how
you are feeling. I had so many stones they were really surprosed one
hadn't gotten into the duct. They say people that experience rapid weight
loss can develop stones. Glad you got it take care of. Sorry you missed
your mission trip.

My Surgeon wrote me a Rx for ACTIGALL, to prevent problems with gallstones.
I have had gallstones for over 25 yrs, and I haven't had any problems from
the surgery. I took the prescription for 6 months.

Yup - had the same issue 1 year out. Had my gallbladder removed and it
resolved many issues I was having. I hear its common with people who lose
a lot of weight. Some surgeons will remove it while they are doing RNY.

I had mine removed April 24th, 7 months after RNY. I had pain on the 21st
that went away after an hour and did not come back until the 23rd, much
worse this time. I called my surgeons office and they said that it sounds
like gallstones and to go to the ER. Got an ultrasound and next thing I
know the surgeon is in the room saying we are removing it tomorrow. The
surgeon asked why didn't they remove it when I had the RNY and that is a
good question. Ofcourse, hindsight is 20/20. I had about 13 stones that
they could see.
