You are probably losing faster than you think you are. It is a common
misconception that you will literally be able to see yourself
melting...Others that do not see you daily see this...but you, yourself,
will not see it for months! I didn't even see any difference till I lost
about 60-65 lbs. And it wasn't until after my first year that I caught a
glimpse of myself accidentally in a mirror at the store and
thought..."I wish I was as thin as that woman"...and when I
realized it was my own reflection...I was STUNNED! My mental image of
myself remains totally skewwed...I still see a fat woman when I look in the
mirror. I lost 150 lbs....EVERY time I pull my jeans out of the dryer I
think..."I will never fit in these little things"...But I do!
LOL Give yourself a year sweetie! Then you will see just how fast you are
really moving along!

They tell me this is all normal. If it makes you feel any better, I had
surgery on 1/8 and am just now starting to feel restricted. I have been
going crazy wanting to start losing the weight. I guess they don't tell you
these things before hand. I was getting really discouraged.

I got banded on 1/9 and losing very slowly. Being ok with the
"slow" takes effort, every day reminder to practice patience. I'd
rather lose slowly every week than lose quickly and have a 3 month long
plateau. I've lost weight fast before, nothing came of it but fast regain
and disappointment. So this time I'm taking it slow. When I hit my magic
spot with fills I'll lose faster, but don't want to lose more than 3 lbs
per week. Until then I'm enjoying the ride. I do know it's very hard to see
the changes in the mirror right away. I was 60 lbs down on another diet
before realizing that my body shape had totally changed. So the 25 I've
lost so far since banding is not gonna be too noticeable. 2nd chin is gone
tho, thank goodness for that. :-)

Hi Melinda, I hear what U R saying as I feel the same way. I had VSG on
10/09 and have lost 42 pounds. It feels so
S-L-O-W! Everyone has been telling me slow and steady is the best, less
loose skin and healthier. Then I read about how folks have lost 150 pounds
in 8 months and I fell like I failed. But I have to remember that it took
me a very long time to get Obese and it will take me a long time to lose
it. I looked at your profile and U seem like U R doing well, slow and
steady like me. Hope I helped.
