I can see why you are depressed, but DO NOT let it get you down. You know
if it does, you might go back to your own ways. I haven't even had the
surgery yet, so I really cannot help you very much. I guess if I were you,
I would contact my clinic once again, and reach out to them. The
dietitians should be able to help you in some way. Please do not give up
hope!!! You will make it!!!

I'm now a year out and have lost a total of 127 pounds! Did I have the
same concerns you do? YES! When I found myself on a plateau early in my
journey, my doctor said "How do your clothes fit? How are you
feeling?" These are two questions that can get you to realize that the
scale is NOT the end all when it comes to measuring your weight-loss
success. Your body needs time to adjust to the fact that your are making
changes (for the better) The way your clothes fit is even a better
indication of how you're doing as the inches fall off occasionally faster
then the weight does. You WILL get to your weight-loss goal. Just remember
that you did NOT put on the weight over night. Losing it too fast isn't
healthy either. Your body knows what it needs to do. Just have faith that
you WILL get to where you're headed. Good luck! Check out my profile and pm
me if you wish.

Jenni,
54 pounds in 5 months doesn't sound bad at all to me, that's more than 10#
per month. Perhaps you are not eating enough in the way or calories or not
getting enough protein in. I suggest journaling all of your intake and
check the numbers, especially the carbs and protein... when I struggle and
think I'm doing everything right but the scales don't budge, I do this on
Sparkpeople and usually the answer is in the numbers somewhere. Change up
your exercise routine and shock your muscles with something different.
Avoid the scales for awhile and remember to celebrate the non-scale
victories.
If you eat too little, your body will go into starvation mode and store
every calorie. A call to your nutritionist and/or surgeon might not be a
bad idea in times of struggle as well.
Hang in there, remember, we are in this for the long haul.
