No you have a history of heart problems? I would see the heart specialist as soon as possible for him to start testing. This could not have anything to do with your gastic bypass surgery. We need to be careful and not think that every medical problem is related to wls. This is important, don't wait. Keep us posted on your condition. God bless

Allergies or asthma? The change in temps/seasons can bring on symptoms - even if you've never experienced them before. The best advice is to see your PCP to get to the bottom of it.

Are you having problems catching your breath? I go through the same thing from time to time. If that is what you are going through, for me it is a 'mind over matter' type thing. (this is what Ive been told, though Ive never seen a doctor for it, so this is ONLY a guess) I am about two and a half years out, but it started happening to me shortly after WLS. My advice is to try relaxing yourself somehow. I can go for several days without being able to 'catch my breath' -or so it seems- What it is for me is, I start to think about breathing, and since breathing is something we do unconciously anyways, when you think about it, it somehow becomes harder. What I have to do is STOP THINKING about breathing!! Im only telling you what I need to do. If you can rule out a heart condition, then ask your dr about taking a muscle relaxer, or Ive even had to cancel plans for the rest of the day, have hubby watch the baby, and most of the time when this breathing thing happens, I have to take a sleeping pill to get me to go to sleep so that way when I wake up, I breath jut fine, having forgot all about it! -till the next time- hahaha! I hope this doesnt confuse you too bad, if you have any questions, feel free to email me at: [email protected] I check my email daily! take care, good luck! Stephanie

Breathing problem is pretty non-specific... what type of breathing problem? Shortness of breath? Congestion? Wheezing? Need more details. The ER is great for dealing with emergencies, but once you are stabilized, they stop. You need to see someone who is familiar with your medical history... please go see your PCP.
