Question:
No weight loss for 2 days!
I am two weeks post op. I was on a liquid diet for 2 weeks and lost 21#. Now I just added soft foods and have not lost any weight for 2 days!! Is my body just adjusting? I will lose weight again right? What is the average number of pounds you are supposed to lose per week? — tammyB1976 (posted on August 31, 2008)

Your Kidding right? 2 days... Im 2 weeks post op and know better than to
weigh my self more than once a week. This Journey is a step at a Time NOT a
sprint. Take a deep breath and use the tool t0 get healthy dont worry it
will come off, Stalls will happen but its part of the process.

First of all don't weight yourself everyday. Your weight will go up and
down depending on water weight and other things. Second, from my 2nd to 3rd
week I didn't loose anything. But have been good since then. I am sure you
are fine and the weight will start falling off soon enough. Keep up with
your protien and vitamins :)

Get off the scale! I am 4 wks post op and I try to only weight myself on
Tuesdays....choose a day and stick with it. You will go CrAzY. There will
be stalls along the way and that is just your body trying to hold on to the
calories like it is used too but you will too overcome this if you stick
with your diet plan...

Your weight loss will, at times, speed up, and at times, slow down, and
sometimes it will stop altogether for a few days or a week or 2 or 3, then
start back up again, so do not worry. What to look forward to is the *end
result* and that will be a significant weight loss!! Just think of how much
you'll have lost after 6 months, or better yet, by your 1 year surgery
anniversary!!! I am 6 months out, and have lost 83 pounds so far!! You'll
lose weight for about a year or more, so you and I both have much more
weight to lose by then! Try not to weigh yourself daily; pick the scale up
and keep it in the closet so you won't walk past it. Weigh yourself once a
week only, because our weight naturally goes up and down a little day to
day and that can be misleading! Stay with your soft foods and make sure you
understand exactly which foods you're allowed to eat at 2 weeks out; your
nutritionist and surgeon should give you written instructions. For
life/forever, avoid carbs and sugars and stick with proteins and veggies.
Make proteins and veggies your primary food.

Hi Tammy! I am with the previous suggestion, DON"T WEIGH YOURSELF
EVERYDAY! You will go crazy. Maybe weigh yourself every week or every
other. I am post op 6 weeks and I to lost 21 pounds the first two weeks
while on liquids but for the past 4 weeks I have not lost one pound! Don't
get discouraged if you don't lose for a while. 21 pounds is ALOT to lose in
two weeks. Be proud that you lost that much! Great job! As soon as I went
on pureed food I haven't lost any weight. The thing that made me go crazy
was that I was weighing myself everyday and I was getting really
frustrated. I stopped that and now I just try on clothes to see if I lost.
I have gone down 2 sizes but I haven't lost any weight since liquids. Try
on your skinny jeans! You may be losing inches! Good Luck!

You body is just adjusting. Just follow the plan your doctor has set for
you and the weight will come off. You may hit plateaus that last for days
and then you may loose some every day. Everyone looses weight at different
rates,
