Hi Karen,
I'm also 4 weeks out of surg. My Dr's and his staff have been there for
every question I needed answered. I'm sure if you call your Dr. they would
be happy to talk/see you and help you. It all depends on what all they had
to do in surg. Mine was not just the WLS. I needed more work. But I am pain
free and would do it all over again ! I will keep you in my prayers.

I would call the surgeon but I just had a thought. Since weight loss frees
hormones and that increases or regulates our periods, as well as increasing
our fertility, could it possibly be ovulation pain? I don't know, just a
thought.

I had Lap RNY on July 1st, and I know exactly what pain you are
experiencing! I always roll over and it is painful to roll over, but once
I'm over to my right side, the pain kinda goes away........I was told it
was because that's where all the work was done........good luck...Magdalena

Hi, I do not know what the pain is but I had it as well. Mine was about an
inch away from my bellybutton on the left side. I am 4 weeks out and it has
started getting better with time. I used a heating pad to help sooth it. I
tried to avoid whatever positions that made it hurt. I did call my Dr's ofc
and they said it was gas, but I know it wasn't. I treated it like a pulled
muscle. Good luck...it should pass...just in case call your Dr to make sure
it is not something else, we are all different...

I had the same pain and it lasted for 3 weeks got worse before it got
better and the next day it was gone. My surgeon thinks that it was from the
drain tube and it rubbed on the inside. That was the only thing they could
come up with because he didn't do anything that low but I would also call
your surgeons office just to make sure.

YES!!! I had such pain in my left lower abdomen that I looked up which side
your appendix was on cause I thought it might be that. I had almost fallen
a few days before the pain started and thought that might have done some
damage. I called my surgeon and he said I may have pulled a muscle in that
area, as it was very swollen & weak from the surgery. The pain lasted
for about a week & then went away. The left side is the side they
actually pull the stomach out from so it seems to be a lot more sore
afterwards.

I had the same pain after surgery. They said it could be scar tissue. I had
also gone back to work when it started hurting, and i think it was the way
i was sitting in my office, i was not sitting up straight enough, and it
must have irritated inside. Once i started sitting right, i felt better.
Must have been scar tissue and sitting improperly.

Hi Karen I had my surgery 6/8/08 and I had the same pains. I called my
surgeon to find out what it was and he said it was from all the stuff they
put in there but to give it 6 weeks to totally heal. Well i'm now 6 weeks
out and I feel like nothing ever happened. Also when people say food is
different for everyone.. it is! I found that if I drink crystal light
lemonade the same stabbing burning pain comes back in my side. Good luck!
