There is a new procedure out there that seems designed just for you. It is
called stomaphyX. You can get the basic idea of the procedure from here:
http://www.themorbidme.com/2007/09/stomaphyx-incis.html . Do some research
on your own and see if you can find a surgeon in your area that can do the
procedure.
Basically the short version is that they place a device down your esophagus
and use some posts to draw the sides of the pouch up and make the available
volume of the pouch smaller. There is no cutting involved. The entire
operation is done through the esophagus and inside the pouch.
I hope this helps,
Hugh

unforturnately a lot of patients are gaining back there weight because they
forgot the rules and are going back to there old habits. You need to look
at what you are eating and how much. You should also be measuring your
foods. Naturally you could gain back 10-15% which is ok. Best of luck

Here's the thing about gaining, and it applies to everyone (wls or
not)...If you eat more than you metabolize and burn...you will gain. You
need to cut back on calories and begin measuring your food...You have the
tool...you don't need to go get another operation...Use what you have. Go
back to basics. You can't handle meat because it makes you full and
uncomfortable! That's how I know your tool still works. You are eating
stuff that is EASY to get down and won't keep you satisfied as long as
meat/dense protein will...
Get some new recipes for the meat and fish you like...Try ground turkey or
meatless veggie burgers for a high protein usually low cal meal! ...Cut out
white carbs and most all sugar and replace your snacks with low cal veggies
and fruits. Eat a plain salad with the end of your meal. Those salad
spritzers are 1-2 calories a spray and taste awesome! Pay attention to when
you feel satisfied and STOP EATING...See how long you go without feeling
hungry...Listen to your pouch and not your head! Begin measuring your food
out to 7-10 ounces per meal...Count calories..Journal your meals for a week
with the nutritional values so you can see exactly what you are
eating...All these things really do help.
You have done an AMAZING AWESOME job! I can't even tell you how completely
awesome losing 264 lbs is! There is a normal 10% gain...Give this a try
and eat that dense protein first...You might even cut out a high calorie
meal or snack for a protein smoothie.
I wish you much luck!

Jen, you don't mention exercise. Be sure you get plenty of it, if you
don't you are committing to weight gain! You must exercise, especially 3
years out. Weight loss and maintenance is always about Diet, water, and
exercise. You can't get away without exercising. Take care. Patricia P.
