You are healing too well. The hole or flap in your pouch is closing up too
small for food to pass and it might even be slowing sown any liquid. They
will give you something to sleep and they will go in with a baloon type
tool and expand it. If you are dehidrated they will give you fluids and
send you home the same day if they get the fluids in you fast enought. It
will make all the difference in the world. It is not uncommon for it to
happen again in some cases. Some people heal better than others. My
healing was slow, so I had to have medication like I had an ulcer for 8
weeks to eat. You will feel better soon. In the mean time, just try
water. it is the simplest thing to get down. do just a sip or no more
than an ounce every 5 to 10 minutes and see if you can handle that. If you
think you are going to throw up do not take the second sip until that
feeling passes. There is got to be a small pin hole that will allow water
to you intestines. three weeks usually would not be a total closure.

I also had a small stricture. It was no problem going in and having it
taken care of. It only took one time and I was back eating again. I'm sure
you will be fine.

Yes an EGD is an endoscopy and once you get it, things should improve, by
why are you flying to NY? No doctor in your would do an EGD? That's
strange.

HI Viv. I just had a dialation from a stricture this past MOnday. As the
other person said; your body is healing 'too' well and the scar tissue is
making the opening too small; so they go in through our mouth with a small
camera on the end, find the stricture or blockage and dialate it with a
small balloon. NO BIG DEAL. You sleep through it. It takes 5-10 mins
TOPS and then you lay in recovery for maybe 30 mins and then you're good.
You'll probably be on full liquids for a day or so after that; but that's
it. NO worries
