I too am an RN- had a lap RNY about 16mos ago- however at that time I was
mostly office work- Case Manager/CDE - my doc put me off for 4 weeks- and
even at that time I tired easily- It took med about 4 mos. before my energy
really came back- It is the physical part of our job when we do hospital
work that I would ask your doc about- the administrative is no problem-
good luck I know you weill feel better and you will definately make a
better impact on your patients. Donna (RN for 36 yrs) 286/133

I would recommend being off work for 6 weeks.

I am not a nurse, but I am mammographic technologist. I had a lap rny and
went back to work in 2 1/2 weeks. My job doesn't really require alot of
lifting, and I have really cool co-workers who would help out alot if I
needed it!

I am a RN who works on a physical REHAB unit. My surgery was May 30 and my
first day back to work was June 30. My surgeon said it was fine and I have
had no problems.
