Hi Nicole! I'm in So. Calif. Thinking about WLS, but have to do the 6 mo supervised dietary program. I've been walking and cutting out the really bad stuff like cream and chips and adding in oatmeal & whole wheat, but that's as far as I've gone so far. S.

Hey Nicole... howdy... I live in Aptos, which is just south of Santa Cruz, CA. I had surgery in Burlingame (SF) on Halloween and have lost about 70-80 lbs so far. I have really gotten away from focusing on the numbers on the scale and have instead focused on how clothes are fitting, or rather, not fitting. Went out and bought new scrubs for work. Used to be in a 'getting snug' 3X and was able to fit into Ls. Granted I wouldn't have been able to sit down, but, darn it, I could get them on. Anyway, had to settle for XL for this month.... next month will be the larges... anyway, I am willing to talk.. check out my site... good luck on your upcoming surgery ... Kari

Hi...Yes there are lots of people in the areas you mentioned. We just had a WLS get-together dinner at the Cactus Restaurant on Saturday in Woodbridge. Ther were both pre- and post-ops there. I sometimes attend a WLS support group at the Lodi library....the next one will be on March 10th at 11:00am. Keep checking the California board for things happening in our area. I will have my 1 year surgiversary on March 20th. I am a Kaiser patient and had RNY. I am down 145 pounds and feeling like I own the world. In 2 weeks I will be celebrating my success on a weekend cruise to Ensenada with 70 other California WLS peeps from OH. It's going to be sooo much fun!!!
