wow - 90lbs in 6 months -thats super... you should be very proud of
yourself.. you body is just trying to catch up. keep exercising - keep
drinking plenty of water and make sure you are getting enough protein -
actually probably want to increase your protein. i am 15 mo post op -
136lb down and hit many plateaus. they are so frustrating - but just keep
doing what you know you should be doing and the weight will start moving
again. hang in there - its not easy... don't let it get you down - just
remember where you started and what you have accomplished in the last 6
months.. that is awesome!!
good luck,
Anne

HI, I agree with the last post.. just stay on track and make sure you get
that protein in, especially first thing in the morning, I think it gives
your body a kick start for the day. I hit a few plateaus myself. It is
frustrating, but the scale will start moving again, you have really done
awesome in such a short time. I am down 130 lbs, it took one year to lose
it. I am just trying to maintain right now. You are definitely on the
right track!! Best wishes!!! April

CONGRATULATIONS! I am 4 years out and over the last 6 months or so had put
on about 10 pounds of the original 126 I had lost. After whining around and
feeling sorry for myself for awhile, I decided to "get back to
basics", as we often say on this board. Lost of water, less snacking,
LOTS of protein, and moderate exercise. In 10 days I've lost 8 pounds. At
some point we all have to say "the honeymoon is over". You may or
may not be at that point. As the other posters said, your body just may be
catching up. Either way, concentrate on the basics and you will be back on
track. And don't forget to give yourself props for your progress so far!
You are well over the "hump"! Take care and God bless.

Crystal your doing wonderful. But your profile isn't filled out so I
haven't an idea what you've done, been doing or are trying. Here is a
Plateau Buster that has worked for many. You may just need to change your
routine and execise paterns.
#1 - Do this for 10 days to break a plateau
#2 - Drink 2 quarts of water a day
#3 - You must have 45 grams of protein supplement and all your
vitamins/minerals supplements each day (some suggest at least 60 and up to
80 gr)
#4 - You may consume up to 3 oz of the following high protein foods, 5x a
day
beef
pork
chicken
turkey
lamb
fish
eggs
low fat cheese
cottage cheese
plain yogurt or artificially sweetened (?)
peanut butter
beans/legumes
You may also have:
sugar free popsicles
tea or coffee
sugar free jello
broths/bullion (sp?)
crystal light drinks

One thing to remember that since you are now almost 100 lbs lighter,
remember that it takes less calories to maintain your weight. You need to
compensate for that. You also burn less calories in exercise, so you need
to up that to compensate. You maybe moving out of your
"honeymoon" period, so you are going to have to start working for
the weight loss. Just hang in there, this is the roughest part. You have
done very well for the 1st 6 months and used that Honeymoon period to your
advantage, you just have to up your exercise and lower your intake.
Remember, it is Calories in VS. Calories out. Good luck, Crystal. You are
terrific!!

Whats the panic? Your body has to catch up with what your doing, losing a
ton of weight. They body doesn't automatically adjust. It could be a
short time or a long time before you begin to lose again, but if you are
VERY FAITHFUL to water, protein and exercise, you will begin again. Don't
lose heart, been consistent and faithful to your plan, especially exercise
and water. I am almost 3 years out, and after a while I stopped losing
weight, and then all of a sudden about 6 months later I lost another 20
pounds. The body knows when it is ready to move again, and we have abused
our bodies for so long, it is just not automatic that they run right. Your
body has a lot of healing to do, give it time. Obesity is a head issue
with a body consequence. I hope you are dealing with the head issues, so
you keep moving forward in your health. Your body consequence will take
time to heal from years of abuse. Best to you. Paticia P
