Question:
Men, this question is for you...It's about post-op sex drives
My fiance is scheduled for RNY (hopefully Lap.) surgery soon. He is an amazing man in every respect and I am thankful for him each and every day. I've lost about 1/5 of my body weight over the past year, not from surgery -just working hard and finally finding what works for me. My sex drive is over the top now. He, however, pre-op, isn't quite as randy. He has been assuring me that once he's had surgery, his drive will return to where it once was years before he gained so much weight. My question to you gentlemen is this, will it? (I know that each person is diffferent, etc.) I've read the messages of similar questions, but most of it seems to do with women who have lost their drive, but I haven't seen many repsonse (if any) regarding men and their drives. Any information you can offer would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! — [Deactivated Member] (posted on March 30, 2006)

Most men report it turns them on big time:) This info less from men than
from their spouses complaining he is like a teenager... So I tend to
believe them. If your spouse is having troubles do have him check with his
PCP. Honestly being MO can cause physical troubles getting the parts to
engage, being too short:(

His sex drive will return in about 3-6 mo. But it will really pick up
around about the year mark. I went form have sex once a week to 2 times a
day 6 days a week. Sunday is a day of rest for football & basketball.
It's almost like im 18 again instead of 37 yrs old.

As my Momma always told me -- Be careful what you ask for; you just might
get it! ;-)

I am one year post op and within 10 pounds of my goal wheight. My sex
drive is about the same, however, my outlook on myself has increased. The
"fat pad" down below has decreaased which makes the appearance of
my manhood look quite a bit larger than I had ever remembered, hence the
renewed outlook. It really depends on the individual and take into account
his age, that really does have a great deal on the sexual appetite.

Once the adjustment to having had surgery is over and he's not feeling as
tired, I will pretty much guarantee that it will come back big time. Just
make sure he gets all his protein and vitamins and, well, as someone else
said - be careful what you wish for! I think you will be pleased, suffice
it to say. Try to be understanding while he's going through his adjustment
period.

My wife claims that is has (sex drive) increased. I can physically do
"it" better, easier, with less hassle. More intimate contact.
Yes, it is better.
