Question:
Does anyone eat dill pickles.

I know there is a lot of salt in them, but I just crave one every now and then.    — cheymax (posted on March 28, 2006)

Yes! Sometimes nothing quite scratches the itch like a cold, crisp dill pickle. I know someone who is just about 25 yrs out and that is her craving control item! When stressed, she says, "Eat a pickle!", when sad, "Eat a pickle!", when happy, "Eat a pickle!". When she wants candy, cake, silly stuff, "Eat a pickle!". She was still holding within 10 lbs of her goal wt, so there must be something to it!

I do, but only the inside as the outside is still a little rough for me to consume. I like the large ones. Kenya

They are a great snack if you can tolerate them... very low calorie, salty and crunchy so you can cover that damn salt/crunch craving!

I am not a huge pickle fan but a Pickle Pinwheel is one of my most favorite snacks. Take a thick slice of deli turkey, spread it with cream cheese and roll a pickle spear up inside. Its a low carb snack and absolutely delicious!!! :)

Hi Karen ... I went through a phase a couple months post-op where I couldn't get enough salt ... would have liked to install a salt lick in my kitchen if I could! Anyway, I got into licking the salt off pretzels (and then, of course, eating the pretzel) ... my nut said to try dill pickles, so I got a jar of the mini-dills ... and now I always keep them on-hand. The salt craving isn't as bad these days, but sometimes ...
