I am only 4 1/2 months out and when I hit a plateau it lasted for almost a
month and I started drinking protein shakes again and I lost 10lbs in a
week and a half. My dr. doesn't suggest drinking them after 6 wks but hey
it worked. Try this and see if it works for you, it won't hurt. Good Luck
and Congratulations on your up coming wedding.

Hi I hope I can help maybe maybe not. I am 21 months out and hit goal so I
am maintaining. Ok I do and prob always will do at least one protein shake
a day. I start my morning off no matter what. Do a food diary for three
days and look back to see where you could of made smarter choices.
Fitday.com does this for free. It will tell you how much fat/carbs and so
forth. How much are you drinking????? Are you having regular bowel
movments? when is the last time you had you labs drawn. I dump easy so I am
more freaked out about it. But I have friends who have had the surgery and
they eat alot of what I do. Grilled chicken, grilled whatever they eat a
little bit of bread like the bottom half of the sandwich or half of it. and
a few fries A FEW! try to go back to the basics are you working out? If I
were dealing with this that is where I would start. Does you doctor have a
person to work with about the foods. 20 doctors have 20 diffrent plans for
this thing. i have a few articles i can forward to you. one is pouch rules
for dummies. It has a lot of good info. Good Luck!

Yup - welcome to my world. The honeymoon is over and it's time to step up
the efforts. I have been able to gain for some time now. It is normal for
our portion sizes to get larger but we do want to make sure we don't stuff
ourselves either. Be aware of when you are full.
No magic bullets here....I think the thing we need to realize (myself
included) is that we need to be aware of how easy it is to gain back from
here on out. If we are lax, we can lose everything we strived for. It's
hard for me to toe the line...that's for sure. But it's up to me now. I
can't eat crap and get away with it. The up side to this is that we still
have portion control which will help us a LOT more than when we've dieted
in the past. Concentrate on that and fill up on low-cal foods first like
veggies, etc. Then go for the protein and if you have to have a nibble of
something bad, make it a nibble. Good luck - and congratulations!

I'll be 2 years out in 5 weeks. I plateaued last December and have been
gaining and losing the same 10lbs ever since. My doc told me that your
body would find a comfortable weight and want to stay there...at that point
on...we have to work as hard if not harder at losing the rest as non-wls
patients. I joined Curves on Oct. 1..and although the weight loss has been
minimal (I was starting to get depressed and lose hope that I'd ever lose
more weight) as of yesterday I lost 4.1% body fat and 9.5 inches.
Soooo...if your body is comfortable where it's at...I'd say stay on track
with the wls rules as always but do something to step up the cardio and
toning so you can get smaller even w/o the weight loss. The numbers on the
scale aren't as important to me anymore now that I know I'm still shrinking
anyway. Good Luck and congrats!

I suggest you go back to basics. Eat your protein first, then other stuff.
Essentially, my doctor told me we should follow the Atkins diet for the
rest of our lives. Scale back on your portions, too.

Exercise can help you get back on track.
Best of luck.
