Question:
I would like to find a new support group, I have been going to Fountain Valley hospit
I have been going to Fountain Valley Hospital for 5 years now and the support group is all new people. No long term people come any more, because people are instered in just after the surgery. I have gotten all that I feel that I can. [email protected] — Kim R. (posted on November 2, 2005)

I read your query with interest. You say you are not getting anything out
of your group, but what ae you giving to yoyr group, those folks who come
to learn about the surgery are looking to past as well as pre surgery
candidates. You have a very special role in this group becaudse of your
long standing experience. I sugest you move up the ladder to the next leval
and engage your support group leader and offer him/her your support and ask
is there some thing you can do for the group. You are a very valuable
commodity. I have been attending the same support group for 15 years. yes
people do come and go, some are takers, some are givers, and some are all
rounders and encouragers, which one are you?
keep up the support of your group.
