Question:
Is this a stricture?

I am about 18 Mos post op. For the last couple weeks I have been getting a pain like sensation right between my breast bone. It usually starts right after I eat or drink. and lasts about 1/2 to an hour..I am not nauseous or vomit? What could this be? I know I need to call my Dr just curious Thank YOU    — NANCY P. Nancy, I have been getting the same pain since surgery. It's not all the time, but when I drink too much too fast that's the same feeling I get. It is a little to the left under my breast bone and goes right through to the middle of my backe. I have heard of others getting this. I also get it if I haven't eaten. Go figure, but if I don't take care of myself and eat regularly I get this pain. What I found that helps is to get up and walk. I don't think it could be a stricture, but I'm not a doctor. Hope it gets better soon.

I, like you doubt it could be a stricture, but possibly an ulcer. I would give your Dr. a call.

Hi, It could be an ulcer I get the same pain though ever since surgery it comes and goes, the doctor told be it was jsut inflammation under my breast bone area that is common so I take some extra stregnth tylenol to help it and it does, or some anti-inflammitories, adn I am now 16 mths post op, hope this helps!

Nancy, I don't think you have a Stricture, they usually form soon after surgery, mine was two weeks after surgery, and with a Stricture you do vomit, a lot..because nothing can empty from your new pouch. Sound more like an Ulcer, you should contact your doctor about it.. best of Luck on your Weight Loss Journey.
