do they grow out of your skin and then start to grow back into your skin?
do you have very course hairs? if so you could try and use something like
nair hair remover. try and get rid of the hairs before they get a chance to
grow back into your skin. i hope this helps.

There are some OTC lotions that soften your hair over a course of time....
maybe that would help you. Best of luck!

Hi, Bonnie; sorry you're having this tough time with ingrown hairs. They
sure can be annoying, and even very painful. I highly recommend
exfoliating, with something like a loofah sponge and some body wash. That
will slough off the top layers of skin and allow the hairs to come through
naturally. You may also want to look in the shaving aisle for products
that are geared toward African-American men; they often have problems with
ingrowns because of the curly nature of their hair. There might be
something there that will help.
<p>Good luck, I hope you find something that helps!

Bonnie, it is called folliculitis. I am very fair and have had the problem
for many years. If it spreads, you may need antibiotics to kill the skin
infection that often accompanies it. Do not wear tight socks, stocking or
pants. Use an electric razor not a safety razor. Exfoliating may help
soften the hairs but it doesn't open the pore of the skin which is where
the problem lies. A dermatologist can help you with the problem.
