I couldn't wait to get in my own bed but it was hard getting up and down by
myself. I solved the problem by using several pillows behind my head and
back and sleeping almost upright. I tucked the covers in tight at the foot
and used them to pull myself up. That was so much better then the recliner.

I'm 18 days post-op today & just started sleeping in my bed with 3
pillows...sometimes I'll wake up early & get back in the recliner. It's

Hi, at 1 month after my open RNY I was still sleeping in my recliner. I
just gradually eased my way into bed..but it was really difficult for me.
I started by laying on my side and propping pillows under my tummy so it
would support it. Take Care...but I was in the same situation. It gets
better. I was 343 at surgery date. so I had a very large incision area.

I'm 6 months out, but remember quite well not being able to sleep in my bef
the first 3 or 4 weeks. I eased myself back in by using a body pillow,
best purchase I ever made. It's just a very long pillow about the length
of me 5'5". Used it to prop on one side of the body. It does get
better first weeks were hard, but I was quickly back to sleeping on my
stomach.

Recliner sleeper here! I was comfortable enough, but longed to get back in
my bed. It was about a month before I could sleep in my bed.

I spent 2 months in the recliner. It just was not comfortable in the bed.

Everyone is different. I've known people who said they slept in their own
bed with 2 pillows under their head and 1 under their knees as soon as they
got home. Personally, I feel I had a very easy recovery, but still spent
4-5 weeks in my recliner! It just wasn't comfortable to be in bed, plus it
was much easier to get up out of the recliner that from a completely lying
down position.

Hi I had open Fobi pouch and I had to sleep upright on a couch for 6 weeks.
Then slept upright in a bed 2 more weeks after that. It was very
uncomfortable with the open procedure to sleep laying down, or to do
anything for that matter. Kimmie
