Acetaminophen (Tylenol) is definitely different from Aspirin, and can
usually be taken by people who are sensitive to Aspirin. Same result,
different chemicals, and I think different processes. My (future) surgeon
said the same thing - No Aspirin or Ibuprofin, but Acetaminophen was fine.
Good luck on your upcoming surgery! *hugs*

I just had surgery 8/6/03. NEVER FEAR... it was not bad at all. You will
be fine if you take acetaminophen. That was one of the ONLY things you
could take before surgery. God Bless you in your JOURNEY!!!

I'm almost 9 months post op and just had another type of surgery two weeks
ago. I was able to take the Vicodin for pain and this does have the
acetaminophen in it. If you are still concerned if you are allowed to take
the Lorcet, call the pharmacy and confirm the ingredients in Lorcet and
then contact the Surgeon's office again with the list in hand. May God
bless your upcoming surgery.
