Have you tried Splenda? Its the one in the yellow packets. Its the newer
of the three. It tastes more like sugar because it is derived from real
sugar. It doesn't break down when heated for cooking like aspertame does.
It doesn't have the aftertaste like saccharin or sweet n' low either. You
should try it. There are many that cannot tolerate aspartame and get
migrains like you. Give it a try!

Exactly what I was going to suggest....Splenda. I've been using it for
about 3 years now and LOVE it. There are also more and more products
starting to use it...like Diet Rite Cola and DaVinci Sugar Free Syrups.
Check out their website, too, at www.splenda.com where they also give some
recipes. Oh, by the way...Splenda is found in the same section of the
grocery store as Equal and Sweet-N-Low.

Like all the other posts the answer is Splenda. But, I would like to add
that they also have a large box which is the equivilant to 2 lbs of sugar.
It's a Yellow Box,and the net weight is 3.8 oz. What's great about it is
that it pours just like sugar. I wish it came in 5lb bags. You use it
measure per measure of sugar. What's different in splenda is that you can
bake with it! Makes great Blueberry Muffins. My kids use it to sweetin
Koolaid instead of buying the Sugar Free which has the aspartame and all. I
know Snack Well cookies are made with it too.
Good luck

More about Splenda. Blue Bunny makes and ice cream cone (lkie a nutty
buddy) that is sweetened with Splenda. They also make sugar free
popscicles sweetened with Splenda and a no sugar added yogurt sweetened
with it. Also. Swiss Miss makes a hot chocolate mix using Splenda. More
and more products are coming out with this so it should get easier.

If Splenda does not work out, there is a natural product called Stevia,
sold in healthfood stores. Comes in powder, liquid, tabs.Has a slight
aftertaste, but might try if other does not work, and a lil goes a long
way...

I too have a sensitivity to Nutrasweet, but not as severe as you. It causes
me to have muscle cramps and twitches, but I can tolerate very small
amounts. I use sweet and low for about everything. Splenda seems to be ok
but I don't really care for the taste of it. I made sugar free jello with
knox geletin and fruit juice.
Good Luck.

I am seatching for items myself. I found STEVIA was my savior. I can't use
splenda, although most people can. With Stevia a little goes a long way. I
bought the liquid and the powder. When I made cabbage soup I used 1/2 a
eyedropper full and it did a hugh crab pot size contanier. My mother was
visting and gave me a fit, it would not be as good with out the surgar.
Well just a note, she took my Stevia home with her to start using. Good
luck.

Well, you could eat sugar. Did I just hear a collective gasp out there?
Honestly, I cannot eat any of those sugar free chemicals - they make me
violently ill and I choose not to ingest them anymore. I told my dietician
and my surgeon both that I would not be eating SF anything. They also
looked at me like I was nuts. Well, I'm 12 months post op and down almost
150 pounds. If I feel like eating something sweet, which is almost every
day, I eat it. I just don't eat a lot of it. I did not do this surgery to
diet. I did this surgery to regain my life back. I don't diet and I don't
eat sugar free. I do, however, eat 'lite' or low-fat. Whatever the process
they use to de-fat mayo or salad dressing doesn't make me ill like the
sugar-free stuff. I prefer "low fat" because it sits better in my
pouch than "full fat". My approach is driving my sister (fighting
her weight through dieting) nuts - I keep telling her that I dieted and ate
sugar-free right up to my weight of over 330 pounds (my highest weight was
342 at my PCP's office). This old approach obviously did not work for me.
Now, I take a fairly opposite stance. I refuse to diet. If I'm going to eat
it, I'm going to 'own' it. I make myself stay aware of the food - not
eating quickly and secretly. I keep in mind how much water I've consumed
and how much protein I still need in a day. I stay active throughout the
day, as well as exercise. I'm taking a more complete approach to making my
health better, my outlook more positive. There is more to our journey
through life than being on a diet, isn't there? I sure hope so. Best of
luck to you. 330/186/??
